the social construction of reality

I have finally started a close reading of Berger and Luckman’s 1966 work. It is a dark and rainy morning. Actually, maybe I will start by writing up my notes from meeting with Gaalen Erickson yesterday, followed by my notes from meeting with Anne Phelan. The meeting with Gaalen was to review my SSHRC application and learn what I needed to focus on to improve my work. I think part of my struggle has been the fact that I haven’t written up a research proposal every year as a matter of course, to apply for SSHRC. This was my first SSHRC and Gaalen was surprised. Well, I didn’t do one last year because I was writing my thesis. I didn’t do one the year before because I was in my last year of my masters and I didn’t know I was going onto PhD studies. I didn’t do one the year before that because I was being paid by Seeds and I didn’t think I needed the funding. I didn’t realize how helpful it would be to go through the process of applying. I am happy I applied and there are some useful feedback notes I can take away from my meeting with Gaalen.
